However, after the first sim day they will only appear after dark – from about 9pm until midnight – and then briefly in the mornings – around 6am. You will probably find a few celebrants throughout the first sim day that you start the challenge. When do Sims 4 Day of the Dead celebrants appear? You can keep trying until they give you a skull. Talk to them for a while until your relationship bar is higher and then “Ask for a Sugar Skull” again. Sometimes sims will give you one straight away, but sometimes they will refuse to give one “to a stranger or enemy”. If you go and talk to them you will have an option to “Ask for a Sugar Skull”. Once you have spoken to Jasmine, you will begin to notice a few sim characters dressed up in Day of the Dead outfits and facepaint. If you want to change the colour of it you can do so by placing it in your house, and then using the colour selector on it in build mode.

She will explain the challenge and give you a sugar skull display case – which you can find in your family inventory in build mode. Once you ring her she will appear somewhere near you house.

There should be an option under the social section of your phone to contact Jasmine. To start the challenge you will need to ring Jasmine Holiday. Starting the Sims 4 Day of the Dead Challenge Contacting Jasmine Holiday You do not have to pick a populated area – when we tested this challenge we set up in Newcrest in a new game with no other residents, and still had plenty of celebrants passing the house. For example, the island in Windenburg has a large area for passersby so you could miss celebrants if you chose that area. It does not matter too much which neighbourhood you pick, but since the celebrants walk along the standard paths for passersby, it may be best to choose one which does not involve too much skimming around to find people. However, as this challenge does not provide much income – duplicate skulls can be sold for 10 simoleans – it may make sense to choose other traits for money making or career based reasons. The most ideal traits for this challenge are outgoing and confident as your sim will have an easier time talking to other sims, and they are more likely to grow to like your sim more quickly. The Friend to the World aspiration would be a particularly good choice as you will be talking to a lot of people around your neighbourhood. If you are creating a new sim, or sims, for the challenge then one of the popularity aspirations would be a good choice as it gives you the Gregarious Bonus Trait which means that sims will like you more on first meeting – so are therefore more likely to give you a sugar skull. Therefore, having a few sims under your control means you can get more sugar skulls at one time.

There is an advantage to using a family or group of more than one sims, as the celebrants are only out for short periods of time. However, if you have a particular storytelling theme, or are a rotational or challenge player, then you may prefer to set up a new character or family. This challenge is perfectly compatible with existing games you are already playing.
